"Jesus Christ."

submission: Awesomeraptor
date: June 12, 2008

I was chuckling through the entire thing, loved how you caught his art style nearly perfectly. But I laughed the hardest at the end when I found that it was actually voiced by EgoRaptor himself! It just goes to show how awesome a guy he is, no pun intended.

The Heart and the Hand p1

"Much different from your usual"

date: May 8, 2008

Just because it is different, that definetly doesn't mean it's worse. This is the exact opposite. I really enjoy your other works, but this is a very good change. It has a strong sense of seriousness (of some sort) to it, with some of your classic humor baked right in. Spead some of your art style icing on top and you got this beautiful animation cake!

In fact, this reminds me much of myself with my acting. I feel almost oblivious to the world outside acting, much like the guy is oblivious to his surroundings while he's drawing.

Don't think that a cute and different piece is going to suck. You've just proved here that basically you can go to diverse lengths with you flash, and still come out triumphant. I'll be waiting to see Part 2 on the front page.

Author's Response:

Yeah, I was trying to make something honestly great here. Not relying on parodies, or knowledge outside this little art world, you know? Everything you need is right there, no assembly required. And that's sort of the artist's curse, isn't it? When you become so involved in your work that you can't focus on anything else... well, when you're passionate about something, I mean. I'm that way myself at times... heh. Glenn's got that too.
Thanks for watching and reviewing, I'm glad you enjoy it!

A star for you

"It's sweet, altohugh..."

submission: A star for you
date: May 8, 2008

I fully understand this is your first flash, and I can also see you actually put some work into this before you submitted it. That is why I'm giving you the time of day.

Since this is your first flash, I can understand that sound effects may be further down the road for you. Still, you might be able to add some music to stiffle the silence, so to speak. I like your art style is not extremely simplistic, like most first-timers, and I know the further along you practice, the better it'll get.

I liked the story, it was a cute. I know it's a bad word, but nonetheless that's the only word I can come up with to describe it, other than being redundant and repeating the "sweet" from my title.

I am respecting you enough not to blam this, but I do not feel that I should protect this either, sorry to say. But should it make it through the portal, I'm happy for you, and should it not, don't fret. Newgrounds is going to be here a long time. Long enough for you to make your skills in flash good enough for our shallow, and high standards.

Siris

"Not half bad..."

submission: Siris
date: May 8, 2008

I seen many of these types of games come and go, and unfortunately they have be mostly the same. Luckily for this submission, I feel that it adds a bit of new, I don't know, flair to the genre. The laser and pick-ups add a great touch. Although, its strong point is also somewhat a weak spot. I may concentrate too much on the thrust and forget the laser, or I would instead focus too much on the laser and hold the thrust down until I hit the wall. That only me of course. This is a full opinion of mine, but I didn't exactly like the music that went along with it, don't take it personal. You can't please everyone.

Other than that, it's a solid game, with a good, innovative touch to it.

"I came to this by chance, and it blew me away"

date: May 7, 2008

I read your story word for word, and I only wish I could write like that. I am abit of a writer, but have only come up with something that turned out, to my dismay, much like a mix between the movies Constantine and Stigmata.

But this is not about the story, this is about the flash. First of all, I loved the music, and I may just buy the soundtrack that you listed there.
Most people just go onto a dress-up game to rather, instead, dress them down, unfortunately. Well, I, like the title says, came onto this submission by chance, and got sucked into the story.

So basically this is a review on your writing, but seriously, can anyone blame me? It's an amazing story, and I fully respect your decision to hold the full production of it until you know it's ready. What can I say, I'm a sucker for quality. And when this does become something, I'll be the first in line to watch it.

"Let me say this first..."

submission: Link's Prize

I love you. Most first-time flash artists turn in mediorce crap that doesn't deserve to be on the portal in the first place. But you sure, you are a nonconformist, and I thank you so much for being one. This is beautiful, the animation is smooth, although the art is scratchy, but I take no notice to that with the amount of awesomeness is in this flash. Kudos to you, and please, for our sakes, keep up the good work.

Romeo and Juliet in Song

"Animation wasn't great, but the concept!!"

date: April 2, 2008

I am a HUGE Shakespeare buff. I've read many of his plays and just seeing this immediately attracted my ADD induced mind.

OK, as you did mention, you did not do great on the animation, but being that I understand R&J thoroughlly I had a great laugh a many parts of the movie. I love the concept of bringing different parts of music, from many different genres and ages all together and fit it in as perfectly as you did. Of course, there were added laughs to the songs I knew, which I would have never thought to be connected to R&J.

What I'm trying to say here is, I loved it. It's pretty damn original, and it brings one of my favorite authors (ok, playwright) into the mix. If you ever get a chance to do something else like this, you really should, but make sure to put your full into it, then it'll be a smash hit.

Author's Response:

Thanks for enjoying it so much! I'm really glad you liked the whole different genre thing. I didn't even notice it! I just wanted the most suitable songs or whatever was in my playlist (NOT Barney <_<) at the time.
And yea, if I do this again, I'm gonna get with it more than a day before the deadline. For some reason, I was really caught up about doing this movie, but then I was urged to, so I did. :P

I Am Metal Slug

"short and cute."

submission: I Am Metal Slug
date: April 2, 2008

I liked the concept, good pun, voice acting was pretty good, just mess with the mic to lessen the distortion (which was only slight) and the art style was that of one of my favorite types. Hope to see more stuff like this, and possibly more video game parodies?

Lord of the Flies:Trailer

"pretty cute."

date: March 22, 2008

There was some pretty good humor in it, like the guy with the rocket launcher. I was recently in a live-action trailer for the lord of the flies. We made it more humor-oriented as well.
Not half bad, but work on the art and you be a smash hit.

"Foamy annouces the truth, again."

date: March 20, 2008

I may actually take his advice with this one. I wouldn't mind throwing a hammer at an unsuspecting dumbass who doesn't know how to drive, and I really wouldn't mind blinding the dumbass who tailgates me, even though I'm going over the speed limit. Dumbasses.

Good humor, as always, and I can't wait to hear the vulgar, but oh-so-obvious solution to all my (and Foamy's) problems.
